Good Friday

It really was a good Friday...haha, get it?  Sorry, I am a nerd...I know.  Today I was off of work so Miss J and I went to visit Dad and have lunch.  This was her first trip to the ballpark outside of my belly.  We need to take her to a game soon before it gets too hot!  Everyone oohed and ahhhed over her, and she even got a few hugs and kisses.

Sitting in Dad's chair.  According to Jocelyn, it also tasted good...I think she might be getting teeth very soon.
Miss J with her headset on, ready to make some sales calls!
There was too much to look at, I was unsuccessful in getting her to look at the camera for this shot!
 Sitting on the Rangers dugout
 Checking it all out
Another picture with Dad, but apparently there was something more interesting on the floor?!?

A message from Jocelyn: "Thanks, Dad, for letting me come visit you today.  Now, mom says to get back to work so you can pay for all of the super cute clothes she just bought me!"  :)

Bluebonnets and a 1980's flashback!

To honor a tradition my mother started many years ago with my sister and I, we decided to take Miss J to have her pictures taken in the bluebonnets.  I am pretty sure Derek is happy this day is over with, because I talked about taking these pictures all week, he was a good sport though.  I told him that if he wanted to have his picture taken with Jocelyn in the bluebonnets he would need to wear something nice (not his A&M basketball shorts and a t-shirt) I was tthinking in my head there is no way he would actually clean up and put on something nice at 8AM on Saturday morning... I was wrong!  He actually put on a nice polo and fixed his hair.  So cute!  Too bad he never gets fixed up like that for me ;)

I think I have also mentioned in a previous post that my mother not only liked to annually take our pictures in the bluebonnets....we also had to either "dress alike or coordinate" CHEEZY!  Ugh!  I think I have been scarred for life because of this.  While, yes, I know it is cute...but seriously....I had to put my foot down when I started 7th grade (seriously...ask Blaire).  Have no fear, I fully intend to make my children color coordinate or match too.  As my mother taught me...do unto others as you would have them do unto you...right?!?  Another memory about the bluebonnets....My mom would always tell me to "NOT" pick the bluebonnets because the police would come and get me?!?  Thinking about it now...that is really mean, I have never picked a bluebonnet since.  Thanks, Mom!

I had a blast flipping through some old photos of Blaire and I in the bluebonnets, and thought I would share some as well as the ADORABLE pictures we took of Miss J.

 1982
 1982, my first bluebonnet picture
 1987-notice the "matching" dresses
 1988- notice the "coordinating" dresses
1989- I don't even know what to say about this one.  I am extremely embarrassed that I was seen out in public wearing this number.

Everything is BIGGER in Texas!

This is what my husband had on when he got home from work today!  Sorry for the blurry picture, was taken with a cell phone.  Pretty cool!

Jocelyn is totally my kid!!

I was looking through my phone at some pictures of Jocelyn...and I noticed a theme.  She is incredibly animated in her facial expressions.  For those of you who know me well....you know I am too.  I am one of those people who you always know what they are thinking, because it is written all over their face.  Definitely something I need to work on!  :)  Anyways, I have posted a few pictures below to confirm my suspicion that we will be able to know exactly what Jocelyn is thinking by the look on her face!

This is where I would try to put a witty comment on what I think is going through her head....but, I have absolutely no idea what she is thinking?!?

This one is not really that crazy, but she is definitely giving me a look of "Hey mom, whats up....got something special for you in my pants!"

Last weekend, we went to dinner with our good friends Josh & Leigh Rountree.  Since it was so beautiful out on Saturday, we decided to get the kids together on Sunday for lunch and a play date.  Unfortunately, our plans to sit on the patio were ruined when the temperature dropped 35 degrees overnight.  Oh well.  Jocelyn and Gage played very nicely together, and the minute we set the two of them on the ground to play...both moms went on a picture taking frenzy!!

On April 1st, Miss J turned 7 months old.  Can't believe it!  This is such a fun age.  She has grown so much!

This weekend, Derek and I took our first overnight trip together (away from J) to help my good friend Kim celebrate her 30th ....I mean 29th birthday in Austin.  Jocelyn had a blast with Gramma and Grandaddy!
