Jocelyn's 2nd Birthday Party

Last Saturday, we had Jocelyn's 2nd birthday party!  In true "Breck" fashion, I just couldn't stop myself from blowing this party completely out of proportion....for a 2 year old.  Similar to last years party, I went out of control?!?  Oh well,....I was quite pleased with the way everything turned out.  Unfortunately, she will not remember it, but at least she will have the pictures to look back on.

This year, I decided to go with at "Western" theme.  I picked that due to the fact that we are now the proud owners of a tractor I thought it would be cute to incorporate that into the party.  Well, we didn't quite make it back up to Illinois to pick up the tractor in time for the party, but we still proceeded anyway.

Jocelyn's super cute party invitation.  My sweet friend Jill made all of her invites, thank you's...basically anything printed....she made.  She is a mortgage processor by day, and loves to do graphic design by night :)

Each kiddo got a cowboy hat and bandanna

I proudly displayed all of Jocelyn's 2 year photos!

Cupcakes cubed made her cupcakes....no, I am not that amazing

A little outside ambiance.  Grandpa made this fake steer that Jocelyn kept calling "horsey"

Jill also made these "wanted"posters.  I just about died when I saw them for the first time.  SO cute!

Jill made this as well.  I thought this turned out so cute!  I found the original idea on pinterest.

Kevin "the balloon guy".  I need to give Kev a little shout out for a minute.  He was SO awesome!  If you can't tell by this picture, we had a FULL house.  75 people plus a balloon artist to be exact.  Pretty sure the firemarshall wouldn't have approved.  Anyhow, the kiddos loved Kevin, and he was so sweet with them and so patient.  I would highly recommend him!

Eating a smore on a stick.  This was a huge hit by all of the kiddos....and adults!

May I please draw your attention to the small bicycle tire pump in the background.  Kevin, AKA "the balloon guy's" pump broke on him mid party, so we had to loan him this bicycle tire pump.  Poor guy was trying to blow up the balloons with his own lungs?!? With as many kids as we had, he would have passed out for sure!

I love this picture!  Cowgirl Jocelyn and Cowboy Carter...jumping on a bed they are NOT supposed to be on.....

Derek had a tiara made for me.  So sweet honey...what are you trying to say?

Once again, stupidly, I decided to open Jocelyn's gifts.  Similar to last year, she was completely uninterested....but I had at least 5 other helpers the entire time.

Jocelyn giving Cowgirl Ava a hug

This last picture is just a little snapshot of what my house looked like after the 75 people, plus the balloon guy left.....like a bomb went off.  I wouldn't have changed a thing.  I think everyone had a good time, and we are so blessed to have such a great family and wonderful friends that all love Jocelyn so much!

2 year photos!

A couple of weeks ago, my dear friend, Kristin, took Jocelyn's 2 year photos.  We learned two lessons that day:

1.  Mom and Dad should come dressed cute just in case your child decides to be a stage 5 clinger and not want to let go of you.

And

2.  Get over the idea of her "smiling" for the camera at this age....it aint going to happen.

However, literally last week, she started saying "cheese" when I try to take a picture of her....great timing!

Literally the last picture we took....and she smiled

RHWOTK

A month or so ago, us neighborhood girls were chatting about how we would LOVE to have a girls trip or night.  So, the crazy planner in me decided to organize a little RHWOTK (Real Housewives of The Knolls) girls trip!  I was completely shocked when just about everyone was able to come!  Awesome!  We had a few pregos and brand new mommys...so we will have to do this again when everyone can go.

The hubz got a little hook up at the downtown Ft. Worth Omni Hotel, and we hit the pool, spa, Joe T's and out on the town.  Some much needed girl time for sure!   If I haven't said it before, I will say it again....I love this neighborhood!  Everyone is so much fun, we all look out for each other and most of all....we all like each other!

Here we are at the pool (missing 3 at this point)  Not sure why I have awkward shoulder syndrome?

Me, Haley, Kelly and Ashley

ummm, yep....we had koozies made :)

The crew!  Might I just point out that the girl in the top left had a baby like 4 weeks ago!  She was a total trooper....and still nursing!

A little margarita action in the line at Joe T's

Megan and I.  Our sweet daughters are just a few months apart.

Me, Haley and Michelle A.K.A "Canada" (she is from there...and it is how we differentiate her from the other Michelle)

Sorry for the hazy picture....pretty much every picture this weekend was taken with an I Phone.

We had so much fun, and these girls are a blast to be around.

Summer Fun

As I am sure you can tell...I am lagging in the blog post department :(  We have been thoroughly enjoying our summer for sure!

A few weeks ago...or rather....last month? Derek took the day off and brought Jocelyn to the zoo with his co worker and his precious son.

Jocelyn and Liam.  Her favorite part was the chickens?? elephants and reptiles? odd...

Her face is pretty classic in this pictures.  She is definitely my child for sure.  For those that know me well, I am extremely facially animated.  You always know what is going through my head....the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.  I think the monorail might stink? Just going out on a limb.

You know how as a parent, you always secretly hope that you will capture a picture of your child in the tub, naked with one of your very good friends kids in hopes of them one day getting married and being able to show the picture in the slideshow at the rehearsal dinner??  Well, that is what is going on with this picture.  Jocelyn and her future husband Gage.  Awww, so cute!
