11 months old

Little Miss J is turning 11 months old tomorrow! Crazy!  She is a lot of fun to be with and is starting to realize when we think something is funny, and laugh, she will keep doing it.  Her little personality is shining through.  She is still very laid back (thanks to daddy) and easy to keep happy.  She only gets fussy when she is tired and hungry.

She eats well....obviously....and her teachers say she gobbles down all of the school food they feed her.  She will drink out of a sippy cup, but would prefer for mom to feed it to her.  She still sleeps through the night and on the weekends will take about 2 hours worth of naps. Can't say the same about school though.  A few weeks ago, I picked her up and looked at her sheet.....15minute nap.  Nice!

She is not walking yet, but loves to pull herself up on furniture and cruise.  She has a walking toy and likes to play with that too.  She can wave bye-bye/hello, and give high five.  When you call her name she looks right at you and smiles.  She loves her bath time and is doing well when we put her in the pool.  Hopefully next summer she will love the pool even more!

I am super excited about her birthday party, I know she won't remember any of it.....but I will!

Indy

This weekend we went to visit my sister, brother in law and niece in Indiana.  We are bad family, and have never gone up there to visit before.  We had a great time!  It was nice to get away, it was literally 25 degrees cooler up there, and we had a blast!

I was very nervous for the flight.  She did okay, but being a business traveler myself, I don't think this is something we will do often.

Cousin Cameron reading Jocelyn a book

The dog's very quickly befriended her because she was sharing her snacks with them.

 Ahhhh, the new camera!

 Doug, Cameron and Riley (Dog)
We had a lot of fun our first night there!

We literally took every "toy" of Cameron that had wheels out and rode it down the driveway and down the street.

I am on a skateboard in this picture.
All of the girls (minus Jocelyn...who was with the boys at the Indy Race car museum)
Derek has family that lives in the same city as my sister.  We were able to go over there one night for a cookout.  Jocelyn and her 2nd cousin?? Desmond.

Jocelyn and her Great Aunts, Pat and Rita

We ventured out to a local dairy farm.  It was really cool to see, but was super hot, so we didn't stay long.
Our last day in Indy, we went to the pool to show off Jocelyn's cute suit.
Checking herself out in the reflection of the door.
Check out her squishy body!  We had a lot of fun, and it was nice to get away.

24 + 7

Another year, another birthday.  We really didn't have much planned for my birthday other than rest, relaxation and a 3 day weekend!  Yeah!  On my actual birthday, my sister threw a 4th of July birthday....and I just considered it my birthday party!  Thanks sis!  We had an overnight babysitter and spent the day at her pool, and crashed after fireworks.

A true pool party...everyone was in the pool!  It was really hot and the water was like bath water!
Poppy and Lynna always know where the party is at!

Hence the name of the blog post.  I am now 24+7.  Apparently, Blaire didn't have enough candles (depressing), so they improvised....or maybe they just thougth that was hilarious?

The day after the party, J and I took a little cat nap on the couch.
We also installed a new baby gate, because Jocelyn is crawling EVERYWHERE!
Jocelyn's favorite pass time....playing with Toby's food bowl.
And then washing her hands in his water bowl.  Maybe this is why Toby doesn't like her?
We whipped out the multi functional pool (we use for playing with balls and as a pool)

 Love those eyelashes!
Thanks for a great birthday weekend!  Oh, by the way I finally got a new camera so I can catch all of those moments I have been missing with my faster than a speeding bullet daughter.

10 Months!

I say this every month, but the time is flying by so quickly.  Jocelyn is so much fun!  She smiles, laughs (best sound ever) and loves everyone.  She has maintained her weight at 21-ish pounds with all of the crawling she is now doing.  She is into EVERYTHING! (loves to eat dog food)  Holy Cow.  It is physically exhausting to take care of her sometimes because you turn your head for one second, and off she goes.  She has become more and more brave, and now pulls up on everything and surfs.  We think she might possibly start to walk by her first birthday.  She is already walking behind a "push toy" and will walk when we hold her hand.  She likes to be held sometimes, and will wiggle her way out of your arms in order to get on the floor and crawl away.

She also has a couple of tricks that we love to do over and over again.  She will wave bye-bye and give high five.  So cute!  She talks a lot, but doesn't call things names yet.  Lot's of Da-Da, Du-Du,etc.  Jocelyn is still sleeping through the night, goes to bed at 7 and wakes up around 6:30-6:45, she is an angel.  She still absolutely adores Toby, but he still absolutely hates her.  When he barks at her, she just laughs and thinks it is the funniest thing ever.  She loves her baths, and likes the pool.  Each day we look forward to seeing what she will do next, she is such a joy in our lives.
Here is a video of Miss Jocelyn waving bye-bye to mom.  Enjoy!

We are Family!

Last weekend, we took our first "trip" with Jocelyn.  We went to the annual Bass Family Reunion.  Some people might think I am crazy, but I love my family.  They are so much fun to be around, we all get along, and we have a lot in common A.K.A....we love to drink!

This year we rented some lake houses down in the Spicewood area of Austin off of Lake Travis.  Kudos to my sister Blaire for organizing the whole shindig.  The younger generation decided to take the reigns in the reunion plannin to attempt to find a location and activities that were friendly for people of all ages.

Our house was BEAUTIFUL.  I would move into this house in a heartbeat, especially with this amazing patio and the view.  Unfortunately, the water was very low (lowest it has been in 20 years), so we couldn't use the dock.

Looking cool in her shades on the car ride to Austin
 The huge family room
 And Kitchen
When you walked into the house you saw this beautiful view.  There were windows all across the back of the house.
Our patio was HUGE.  It was big enough to fit all 27 adults and 2 kids that were in attendance.

Jocelyn was checking out the view and wondering when I was going to let her out onto the patio so she could put things in her mouth

 Chilling on the couch
I thought it would be funny to take a picture of this because at one point our fridge reminded me of Derek's fridge when he was in college.  Beer and meat....
Exploring the back patio

Sitting with Cousin Cameron, who is "Safe Sitter" certified.  We took full advantage of that!
I put this picture on the blog for two reasons #1: It shows how big the deck is and that it accommodated our entire family and #2: I have no idea what my sister is doing?!? Staring off into space, or really confused?

Jocelyn was a big hit at the local mexican restaurant.  She is a total flirt and managed to reel in this little guy named Hendrix....his dad had a nose ring if that gives you any indication to their family dynamic.  Wink, wink.
The ladies took a trip to the local vineyard for a wine tasting.  I really don't remember why we all thought it was a good idea to pop our knees?  I guess we look cute and that is all that matters.
 Hanging out with cousin Jessica.
I thought this picture was so sweet and had to post.  This is my Aunt Kay who is in desperate need of a grandchild ( Come on now, Matt and Vicky!!).  All of my Aunts gave Jocelyn so many hugs and kisses.  She and I are both so lucky to have such loving and caring Aunt's.
Picture me saying this with my eyes rolling.  Every year the guys have the annual "golf tournament".  This is a HUGE deal.  We are talking teams, shit talking and of course a trophy.  Well, this is a picture of the winning team, Derek, Uncle Bill, Uncle Jim and Cousin Forest.  Good job guys!
This picture was on the way home from the reunion.  Is she flexible or what?
