6 months old!

My how time flies!  Little man just turned 6 months old and he is growing up so fast.  The day after Christmas we suspected he might be getting RSV, so we took him in and our suspicion was correct.  He has a mild case, but it still stinks and I hate that he feels so crummy while we are off of work for the holidays.  Of course, in true Grayson fashion, he is still so happy and smiles all the time...you would have no idea he was sick at all.

Grayson is not quite sitting up on his own yet.  He is real close, but will fall over to the side after a couple of seconds.  We cannot get his hands out of his mouth!  Not sure if he is starting to teeth or if he just likes the way his fingers taste?  He loves to play peek a boo with his sister and it always makes him laugh.  We started him on food recently, and I will just say it is a work in progress.  I am home making his food like I did with Jocelyn.  Derek got me a fancy baby food maker for Christmas where you can stem and puree the food all in one- Nice!!

Derek took him in for his 6 month appointment and his stats were:

17.7 lbs (53%)
26.5 in (51%)
17.5 head circumference (86%)

Similar to Jocelyn, my children have large heads!!  :)

Every day is a new adventure with him, and I feel like his face changes all the time.  He still has no hair, but what hair he does have is light in color like Derek and Jocelyn.  His eyes are still very light in comparison to Jocelyn's.  So, we might have a blue or hazel eyed boy on our hands, time will tell.

You would never know this kiddo is sick by the looks of this picture...always smiling!

Grayson is not so fond of green beans....but this sure is funny!

Merry Christmas

We knew the holidays this year were going to be so much fun.  Not only with our newest addition to the family, but with Jocelyn being the age that she is.  There were so many things that we wanted to take her to do, but just ran out of time.
We started out the holiday season with Jocelyn's 1st movie, Frozen.  She went with her best friend, Ava and both mommy's.  She LOVED it, she literally didn't blink the entire show!  She also got all of the frozen characters for Christmas.

Jocelyn and her Daddy went on a special date to watch Peter Pan at one of the local high schools.  Derek said she loved it and was glued to it the entire time!  She was so excited to go.  I think we might do this more often....her admission was $1 which makes it even better!!

We went to Derek's work party out at the Ballpark

Poppy and Lynna invited us to go to the Prestonwood Baptist Church Christmas show.  Both of the kiddos loved it, but fell asleep in the grandparents arms mid show.  They did manage to wake up towards the end to catch the flying santa, fireworks, a real camel and all sort of other crazy things you would expect a church show to have.  :)

Our visit to Santa this year went pretty well.  Jocelyn hopped right up there and smiled.  Grayson, however, fell asleep while we were waiting in line.  Oh well, he still looks cute.  Jocelyn asked for a Minnie Phone and headbands??

Jocelyn had her school Christmas party.

We invited Jocelyn's best friend, Ava over to decorate cookies.  As you can see, Ava is well trained in posing for the camera.  Jocelyn on the other hand has on her sofia dress, Christmas PJ's and a cookie shoved in her mouth.  Haha!

We spent Christmas eve with Derek's side.

Jocelyn was a good helper with all of Grayson's gifts.
There was no shortage of babies and baby gear for Miss Jocelyn

I set the timer on my camera to try and get a family pic in front of our tree, and this is the best we could get.  Sorry, Jocelyn...brother is trying to tell you to be quiet!

Santa was good to these little kiddos!

The night before, I told Jocelyn to NOT come downstairs but to stay upstairs and call my name.  She did just that.  This way we could video and take pictures of the whole morning.

Highest educated Bass girl :)

Blaire would like it to be known that she is officially the highest educated "Bass girl"- haha!  She graduated last week with her masters in library sciences.  We are really proud of her and know that it took a lot of hard work and dedication!

The graduate!

So proud of you!

Uncle Steven is good for something....holding everyone's coats, purses, programs, flowers and umbrellas while we have our photo session ;)

Thanksgiving

We hosted Thanksgiving again this year, and had such a great time!  In total, we had 13 people plus 2 babies at our house.  Everyone was like "are you sure you want to host", Absolutely!  It is so easy because we fry the turkey and provide the house, and everyone else brings the sides, etc.  Derek's Grandpa rode the train down from Illinois.  We have had such a blessed year, so much to be thankful for!

We went to the train station to meet grandpa.  Sign, train whistle and all!

Me, Derek, my Dad, Blaire and Jocelyn braved the cold and went out to walk in the Turkey Trot.

Jocelyn did so good!  She spent most of the time in the stroller, but then wanted to get on Daddy's shoulders for a bit.
Roxy the elf came to our house.  Jocelyn is very into it this year!

5 month photos

Ugh...I have been so busy with work and life, I haven't had a chance to post Grayson's 5 month photos and Thanksgiving.  I  made myself sit down tonight and do a post before Christmas comes and goes!!

Sweet Grayson is 5 months old (almost 6 months, yikes!).  He is literally the best baby ever!  He is so sweet, and always smiles.  He is a great eater and a pretty good sleeper.  He really never cries, unless he is just too tired to know what to do.  We started him on rice cereal and he is doing pretty well.  He didn't quite know what to think at first.

So precious!
