Fathers Day

We had a wonderful Father's Day weekend!  We ended the weekend with a Ranger's game, and brought out some friends and family to spend the day together!

Jocelyn and Daddy watching the game

Thought this was a cute pic.  Jocelyn and her Grandaddy holding hands while watching the game.

Gramma and Grandaddy

Right before we left, I realized we needed one last picture of our family of 3 before Grayson gets here in 12 DAYS!!!! (if not sooner)

The England's and Rountree's
Is this picture ridiculous?!  I think over the past week or so, my belly has exploded!  I must admit, I will miss my "shelf" after Grayson gets here.  It sure does come in handy....especially when you need a place to put your lemon chill at the Rangers game!

On Saturday, we went to our neighborhood pool with some friends, grilled out and relaxed.  It was such a fun day!  Jocelyn is getting so brave at the pool and spent all afternoon jumping off the edge into any one's arms!  I think it's time we get back to Aunt Blaire's for another swim lesson before this kid starts diving off the edge of the pool!

Jocelyn giving her Daddy sweet kisses.  They melt my heart together!

Happy Fathers Day to my wonderful husband!  Can't wait for Grayson to get here and we become a family of 4!  I boy, one girl....who could ask for more!

Swim Lessons with Aunt Blaire

My sister, Blaire is a librarian during the school year, and teaches swim lessons in her back yard during the summer.  So, we had our first swim lesson this past weekend.  Jocelyn did pretty good.  She loves the water, and I think in time she will become more and more comfortable with her swimming skills.

Such a cutie pie!

Grayson's Nursery

When we found out that we were going to have a boy, we were so excited...but, I immediately got really anxious about how to decorate the nursery.  Those who know me well would not be shocked to hear that I had an entire design board going for a girls nursery.  So, when I started to think about a boy's nursery, I was completely lost.  Annnnnd to top it off, Derek all of a sudden had an opinion on "decorating"??!!  Ummm, Im sorry....where were you kind sir when we were decorating Jocelyn's nursery 3 years ago?? :)

After several weeks of bickering, Derek found an inspiration!  YES....it was Derek's idea that was implemented in this nursery.

When Derek turned 15, he and his Dad started fixing up a 1952 beat up Chevy pick up truck.  The engine was frozen, so they had a lot of fixing to do before the truck was ready to drive by the time he turned 16.  Derek, his Dad, brother and some of his buddies were always working on it together, and had a lot of fun doing it.

Which brings me to how we implemented this sentimental story into Grayson's nursery.  Derek and his Dad went to the junk yard where they got a lot of the parts to fix up his truck many years ago, and came home with a Chevrolet tailgate to hang in the room.

A view from the door.  The best I could do to try and get a shot of the whole room.

Derek made the barn doors behind the crib from old pallets he salvaged at work.  The look we were going for was a rustic/industrial barn look where you would be fixing up a 1952 pick up.

A close up of the barn doors.  We hung working lanterns flanking either side of the doors.
I am not completely done with this corner, but I plan to hang some sort of basket on the wall to hold Grayson's books.  So, this will be his little reading nook.

This is an actual picture of Derek, his brother and one of his buddies hanging out from underneath the Chevy pick up.  Derek's Dad digitally enhanced the picture to make it more modern and to fit the décor of the room.  I think it turned out awesome!

Grayson's glider, and a picture of the tailgate hanging up.

We made curtain rods out of galvanized piping (thank you pinterest) to give it more of an industrial feel.

Aunt Blaire made Grayson a measuring stick similar to what she made for Jocelyn, and it turned out so cute, I love it!

All in all, Grayson's nursery turned out perfect and I can't wait to bring him home to live in it!

9 month belly shot!

I can't believe I am 9 months already!  I feel like this pregnancy has gone by so fast.

Jocelyn wanted to take a picture with mommy too!  Only a few more weeks until we get to meet our little man!
