As mentioned in a much earlier post, our house has been taken over by baby stuff! It litterally looked like a daycare. For those of you who know me well, you know my house is always picked up and organized. I got this trait from my mom. So, you would also guess that this was driving me crazy!
So, Derek and I made a playroom for Miss J. (When you walk in the house, the room immediately to the left....use to be the alcohol room A.K.A "The Lounge"). Anyways, I successfully sold some of the furniture items on craigslist....and immediately talked Derek into running to Ikea to purchase the replacement furniture. Here are a few pics of Miss J's new hangout....and mom and dad's too!
These chairs from Ikea are te best! They gently rock or bounce back and forth...good for rocking and feeding babies. Also please notice the very fun chalkboard wall Derek made for Jocelyn.
The left side of the bookshelf with all of J's toys, books, DVD's and a globe....just incase J wants to learn about geography.
Top part of the bookshelf. Decorated with my childhood "Little Red Riding Hood" books, etc. Also, some of my toy Mickey Mouse building blocks that I had a child.
And the right side of the bookshelf with more of my childhood things. The bear, dog and blankie A.K.A
"Sad Sack, Charlie Bear and Mickies" were my favorite things as a child. That is why they are a few shelves up...and out of J's reach! :)
How COOL is this! Derek was participating in caravan at his work where they travel around to different locations (mainly military bases) to sign autographs, make appearances, etc. So, they of course brought the ALCS trophy with them. Well, for some reason Derek was deemed the "responsible" person to bring the trophy home with him until the next day. We had to sieze the opportunity to take some photos with J and the trophy. She thinks it is pretty cool too! Personally, I was kind of nervous to have it in the house?!? Our emergency evacuation plan was as follows....if the house catches on fire... Grab the baby, dog and ALCS trophy. Ha!

Happy Valentines Day....and a cute story!
I know this post is a few days late, but I wanted to share a few Valentine's pictures.
Jocelyn's first Valentines Day card to Mom. It even apologizes for Dad getting "stuck in traffic". Go figure!

So, every year on Valentines Day, without fail, Derek will "claim" that he "left work late" or "got stuck in traffic". When all he is doing is joining the masses of men choosing a Valentines Day card for their significant other LAST MINUTE! Then, Derek will either sit in the parking lot of the store, or in our driveway and frantically write a message in his card. This happens every year. Of course, like most women, I picked out my card several weeks ago and painstakingly read each card to find the right one. This year, I guess he was really in a hurry because this is what he wrote in my card....(just part of it) "I am truly blessed to have such a loving, caring MOM as yourself"???? Was he writing this card to me or his mom?? When he gave it to me, I read it and just died laughing. When I read it back to him, he was like "oh, oops...you know what I mean". Anyways, I thought that was funny enough to share.

5 months
I am SO sorry about the long absence from blogging! We have been sick, traveling for work and had internet issues.
Miss Jocelyn is growing up right before our eyes! She laughs so much now and smiles all the time, such a happy baby! She is rolling over now, which is great, but also not so great. She can go from back to front much easier than front to back. So, it makes the 3, 4, 5AM wake up calls that much more annoying. We lay her down on her back, and then she flips over onto her belly-repeat, repeat, repeat. I keep waking up and flipping her back over....but, I have to quit doing that. I find myself stalking the baby video monitor to make sure she is not face down in the bed. EXHAUSTING! She loves her rice cereal now (thanks Jessy for the apple juice suggestion). Jocelyn also loves puppets, Toby, holding her bottle, her jenny jump up seat and baby einstein videos!
** I must point out that Jocelyn is sporting her Adidas track suit that Uncle Adam got for her. Super cute! Thanks Uncle Adam!
Is this not the sweetest sound ever! I swear Derek and I have watched this video 1 million times. The sound of her laugh just makes my heart melt.
I love this video too. You can see how happy she is in her jump up and how she LOVES to look at Toby. Seriously, if Jocelyn could sit in the jump up all day....she would!

General Hospital
Our house has been plagued with sickness for the past two weeks! Two weekends ago, Derek came down with the stomach bug that is going around. He started feeling crummy on Saturday...and honestly, I was super annoyed that he wasn't helping out with Jocelyn and didn't believe he was sick. That was until I was face down on the bathroom floor at 11PM that night. I WOULD NOT wish this bug on anyone! It was HORRIBLE. We had to call in Aunt Blaire and Uncle Steven to take care of Jocelyn on Sunday because neither of us could get up off the couch. Nasty virus!
Then, this past Wednesday, Debra at daycare called me to let me know that Jocelyn was not herself?!? So, on Thursday, I took her to see Dr. Fernandez. She was diagnosed with RSV and bronchiolitis. Those of you who are Mom's know how heartbreaking it is to see your child so sick, and there is nothing you can do to help them. This sickness couldn't have come at a worse time. Normally, I am the only parent that travels for work, but at this time of year, Derek travels too. So, on Friday we were in a bind! Gramma Joyce so graciously volunteered to take off of work and take care of Jocelyn. Saturday and Sunday were the worst. She had a fever, and would not take down fluids. So, on Sunday, we took her to the ER to get checked out.
They took a chest X-ray and did a deep suction. The suction helped out a lot, and it was he most peaceful I have seen her sleep in a while. Derek fortunately had MLK day off, and stayed home with her. I stayed home with her today while Derek is out of town, and Derek is taking off tomorrow...sigh! Then hopefully by Thursday, we can get her back to school, as I will be in Florida until Saturday.
Our little tot taking her albuterol treatment like a champ! I really hope everyone gets well soon! Being sick is NO fun! And I am ready for Miss J to get back to her normal self!

Rice Cereal...yum!
We got the green light to start Jocelyn on rice cereal. The first time we tried it, she leaned forward and opened her mouth. I got really excited and figured her enthsiasm would continue....wrong! She now hates it, leans over in her chair and cries everytime we try to feed her. Ugh! So, we have discontinued for a few days and will pick back up next week. This is a video of the first time Jocelyn tried rice cereal.
