This post has absolutely nothing to do with Jocelyn, but I wanted to share a neat story.
As you all know, I travel A LOT for work, so as you can imagine I have some interesting stories. They vary from a man having a heart attack, a man getting kicked off the plane because he didn't think the cell phone policy applied to him, having to talk a woman out of an anxiety attack because this was her first flight and she didn't understand what turbulence was, and the list goes on and on.
On Friday, I was on my way to Oklahoma and there was a soldier on my plane. The flight attendant was visiting with him and thanking him for his service. She then asked him what the first meal was he wanted to have when he got home was? He looked at her and said "my wife's chili", ugh...tear! Man...kind of makes you stop and think for a minute about how lucky you are. Now, here is the real tear jerker. As we were all getting off the plane and walking toward baggage claim, he was running and weaving in and out of all of the other passengers toward the exit. I stopped to watch, because I knew what he was doing and I wanted to watch. He bolted through the "worlds slowest" revolving door and into his wife's arms. The rest of his family was there and they were all hugging and taking pictures. I will be honest, I kind of welled up with tears. The world of business travel is not so glamorous, but seeing homecomings like that make me smile for sure!
