I was out of town for work :( when Super Dad caught Grayson laughing on camera. While it makes me sad I missed his first giggles, I am sure thankful for technology! I must have played the video 20 times while I was out of town. It makes me smile, and melts my heart!
I still can't believe I have a 3 year old! Not only has her vocabulary blossomed recently....but so has her attitude! At this point I am sure you are all saying..."I wonder where she gets that from" haha...so funny! :)
Last weekend, we celebrated Jocelyn's birthday!
We went to Jocelyn's favorite Mexican restaurant and came back to some yummy cupcakes, or
huh-cakes as Jocelyn calls them!

This is Carter, our next door neighbor. He really wanted to sit next to Jocelyn on her birthday, and boy did he scoot his chair up close to her! :) I think his mom and I need to keep a close eye on them when they get older! Ha!
Apparently I am crazy, but I booked Jocelyn's 3 year check up as well as Grayson's 2 month check up at the same time?!? I had no choice, I go back to work Tuesday and I had to get it done. :)
Currently, I have one child in the 75% in weight and the other is 32%...I will let you figure it out! :)
Jocelyn Updates:
I know most parents are completely biased, I am no different. Jocelyn is SO smart it amazes me! Her vocabulary is off the charts, and daily she will bust out with a completely new word, phrase or facial expression (not sure where she gets that from) :) She is short for her age, and you can totally tell at school when she is next to her peers. Guess she gets that from her momma, oh well. She is sleeping in a big girl bed A.K.A "Princess Bed", but wakes up most of the time at about 1:30 and comes downstairs. She taps Derek on the shoulder until he wakes up, and then he has to take her back upstairs and put her back to sleep. Why does she go Derek's side of the bed you might ask...well, he is weaker than I and will very quickly throw her in bed with us.
She is and has been potty trained for quite some time, she picked that up quickly and is a champ! She has her favorite foods, but has become pickier as her vocabulary has developed. Nightly I hear "that is too spicy" "I want something else please". We have to figure out something to encourage her to eat better.
Her imagination has really started to blossom in the past couple of weeks, it is very cute to watch. She is finally getting to the point where she can play by herself and not have to have one of us play with her...yeah!
Jocelyn-ism's:
Jocelyn is very funny...I know she definitely gets that from me (wink, wink). She mis pronounces words sometimes and it is soooo cute, I don't want to correct her, but I know its the right thing to do.
And the list goes on. One thing is for sure, she is such a loving kid. She gives hugs and kisses to everyone, and says I love you all the time! Melts my heart.
She loves her brother too, and wants to hug and squeeze him all the time.

Grayson Updates:
Grayson turned two months old on the 27th. Time has just flown by. God has blessed us with two GOOD babies! G (as we call him) is so chill, and only cries when he is hungry, tired or has a dirty diaper...which I would too! He is easily consoled, and sleeps pretty well. He isn't completely sleeping through the night yet, but we are really close!
At his two month check up, G weighed 11lbs! Which is apparently only in the 32%?? I guess he has some growing to do. He is starting to coo, which is so precious-I love it.
We are also working on tummy time, this is from several weeks ago.

Today is Jocelyn's birthday, but I will do a separate post for that. I can't believe we are the parents of two healthy, handsome/beautiful and wonderful children. We are blessed!
Last weekend, we hosted a surprise birthday for Derek's mom's 60th birthday! I think she was shocked!!
This was her face when she walked in the door followed by this series of comments...
"What in the hell is going on?"
"How did you do this, you have a baby!" - to me

"OMG, you got your hair done!!"
"OMG...It's so good to see you!"

Stephen was able to sneak into the family photos so we could display pictures of Joyce through the years.
Stephen also made galley's to showcase what was popular during each decade (music, culture, current events, style, etc.) Very cool to see.
For food, we did "Desserts of the Decades". We had a special dessert that was popular during each decade...unfortunately for us there was a lot left over...not good when you are trying to drop the baby weight!

Can you believe it? Grayson is already 1 month old (actually 5 weeks by the time I posted picture). It has gone by so fast! He is getting so big too. He was 7lb 2oz when he was born, and I had him weighed over a week or so ago and he was over 9lbs! He is a good eater.
Derek and I have been blessed with two very good babies! Whew! Good eaters, good decent sleepers, and good dispositions.
A lot of people have inquired how Jocelyn has been with Grayson...AWESOME!! There is no jealousy at all. She is such a good helper! She will hold the bottle (for 5 seconds), throw diapers away, go grab things for me, and most importantly she helps me comfort him. Funny story....So, for some odd reason, Derek and I don't call our kids by their names, we have very random nick names for them? Jocelyn is Miss J, J-bird, JJ, etc. Grayson's name has developed into G-man, G, G-money, etc. I guess Jocelyn has picked up on this, because the other day when he was crying, she walked over to his rocker and leaned in and said "shhhh, its okay G money". Derek and I literally died of laughter! She is hilarious (gets it from me) :)
Grayson is on a pretty strict schedule. He eats every 3 hours-he's like clockwork. I have chosen to pump milk and feed him in a bottle, and he is eating 3oz per feeding! We haven't been able to go for more than 3 hours yet (insert sad face for nighttime feedings) but I know we will get there soon. Since we now live in a two story house, he is shacking up in our bedroom for now until he sleeps through the night. I will tell you he is the LOUDEST baby on the face of the planet! He grunts ALL THE TIME! Very distracting when you are trying to sleep-ha! We have purchased a sound machine that blasts all night long in our attempt to drown out the noise, and it works pretty well for now. I for one (I'm sure Derek too) can't wait to claim back our sleeping quarters- Grunt free!
