Belly Pic and New Bed!

Here I am at 6 months!  This pregnancy is flying by so quickly!

We changed Jocelyn's bed over to a toddler "big girl" bed.

She was very excited about it, and wanted to get in her jammies ASAP and jump right in.  I wish I could say that the rest of this transition went that smoothly.  :(
Jocelyn even helped Dad assemble the new rail to her big girl bed.
We usually don't have a problem getting her to go to bed, but she typically wakes up every night between 1-3am because she is scared of the "rain".....for those of you who live here, you know we haven't had any rain! I am hoping that this is just a phase?  Because we need our sleep before baby Grayson gets here!

The naming process....

Big sigh.....well, we finally have a name!  From the moment we found out that we were going to have a boy, things changed.  Derek all of a sudden had an opinion?!?  Not only on the name, but also on the nursery.  So, unlike the naming process with Jocelyn, which consisted of thinking about it for two days and voila!  This process took weeks!  We went round, and round, and round....and round about this one.  Then one day, while reading the "Baby name book", Derek came across the name Grayson.  I immediately piped up and said, YES!  I like that a lot!  Then, we had to "think" about it...and when I say we, I mean "he".  But, in the end we both agreed that we just love this name, and we are excited to share with everyone that our little man will be called....

Derek painted the nursery this weekend in a beautiful handsome grey.  He wrote Grayson's name on the wall, and I thought that was pretty cute!  Don't worry, we aren't going to leave it that way ;) Robert happens to be my Dad's name as well as Derek's maternal grandfather's name.  So, we are happy to honor both sides of the family in that regard.  AND....the England name will be carried on.  On the England side, they only had one boy (Derek's Dad), and he had 2 boys (Derek & his brother).  So, we are excited that we can continue on the family name for another generation!

Snips and snails, and puppy dog tails...

That's what BOY's are made of.  We went in for our 19 week sonogram on Friday and got a huge shocker....we are having a BOY!  I still can't believe it, but Derek and I are so excited.  How perfect?  One of each!  We are very blessed.  Now, I have to trash my "girl nursery" design board and focus on boy stuff.  I might just turn all of this over to Derek as I am totally out of ideas!  I am sure I will figure it out soon enough.  Baby England is measuring on target and everything looks good, so we are very thankful.  Now, we have to figure out a name.  I will let you know as soon as we figure that out.

Tough call

I am sure at first glance you might have already figured out what this post is about...Derek and I had to make a VERY tough decision yesterday.  We had to put Toby to sleep, and boy did that suck bad.  Not to dwell on the sadness, but for those who didn't know, right before Christmas Toby got pancreatitus.  We worked for days to try and nurse him back to health, but in the end he was old (12 years) and I think he knew deep down that it was time.  So as hard as it was, we made a tough call and sent Mr. T to doggy heaven (or heben as Jocelyn calls it) :)

Now, onto the story of Toby.  I got Toby the summer inbetween my freshman and sophomore year at college.  My college roommate and I went to Canton to look for furniture for our first "real" apartment!  We made the mistake (one of the best mistakes ever probably) of going to dog alley to check out the puppies.  I absolutely fell in love with the little yorkies, and was convinced that my 19 year old self was totally ready for this type of responsibility.  I came home and told my Dad about this cute little puppy I had found, and just cried and cried about the fact that he needed to be with me and not with the creepy breeder lady.  So, out of desperation to get me to SHUT UP, my sweet father told me that he would get me the dog if I would stop crying.  I quickly dried my tears, hopped in the car and drove back to canton to get my Toby dog!
He was such a good dog, and YES...he slept with us every night.  Our own child doesn't even sleep with us! HA!

He was my baby before I had a baby...but even after having a baby....he was still my baby ;)

Not really sure why we always felt compelled to "put" Toby into things?!

Toby and Jocelyn had a "love-hate" relationship.  Jocelyn loved Toby...and he hated her!  He was just so use to being the only one and not having a kiddo pulling his ears, etc.

I do realize that this is the second picture of Toby on our kitchen table.  This just goes to show how much of a human we thought he was.

As much as Derek wouldn't admit it at first, he was pretty crazy about Toby too!  They were total bud's...and they would cuddle on the couch and watch "sports".  My heart broke to pieces when I saw how much Toby's passing effected him, ugh!

We will miss you little guy.  We know you are in a better place and are watching over us.

4 month belly picture

This is my "official" 4 month belly shot.  I even took it myself with the timer on my camera....pretty neat!  I am definitely showing a lot faster this time around.

This is me at 4 months with Jocelyn.  I am definitely smaller in this picture....AND still wearing regular pants (insert crying face emoji)

New Year's

This year we had a fun party to go to for New Year's!  We had a blast!  We met up with several of our neighbors, ate, (some of us drank) and danced the night away!  I am pretty sure I deserve the award for being the pregnant lady that danced the most AND for being soooo patient and driving home 8 drunk people AND taking them through the Wataburger drive thru at 2AM....when all I wanted to do was go put on something comfy and go to sleep!!  :)
I borrowed a dress from a friend, and decided to "rock" the baby bump that evening!
Jocelyn wanted to get in on a picture too.

I think I was about 14 weeks in this picture, I will post an official 4 month belly photo in a separate post.

For some reason, Jocelyn is now excited to have us take her picture??!? I am totally okay with that, because she is sooooo cute!

And apparently we have a little poser on our hands!  So cute!
