Before I begin, let me preface by saying that I am not annoyed by the "pointing", I just think it is humorous?!?
Over the past week or so (since the belly has started to show), I have noticed that when I am talking to someone about the baby or my pregnancy, they feel the need to point at my belly? Yes, thank you, I am well aware that that is where my belly is, and that I am pregnant. Just the other day at work, one of my co-workers commented on how I looked....and pointed at my belly. Today, another co-worker walked up to me and said "wow, look at that" ( I guess I was wearing a shirt that showed off the belly?) and pointed at my belly. This past weekend, Derek and I went to an engagement party, and once again...everyone there felt the need to point at the belly.
I guess I don't mind, I just think it is interesting? Did I do this to people when they were pregnant? Oh, well...just thought I would share :)

Units
This post is a shout out to the year "1988". For those of you who would roll your eyes at my "taking a picture of a picture", well...I purchased a picture scanner today, Yeah!! So, here we go.
Do any of you remember the clothing brand called Units? For those of you born in the 80's, or who have children who were born in the 80's, you might remember them. For anyone who has no clue what I am talking about, Units were a very "trendy" brand of clothing that were all the rage in the late 80's early 90's. Basically, they were one piece knit jumpsuit outfits in horrendous colors. You would then accentuate the horrendous knit jumpsuit, with a horrendous "unit", A.K.A- knit belt, also in a horrendous color.
Please note exhibit: A below. Me and my best friend Emily, Christmas 1988. Please observe my red jumpsuit, and green "unit".
The reason I have decided to write about this topic is because this week I was visiting with a friend at work about my most recent maternity purchase. This recent maternity purchase reminded us of the units that we use to wear back in the 80's. Now that I am 4 months pregnant, the most recent development is that I can no longer button my pants...at all.
Please note Exhibit B below: My "unit" purchased exactly 22 years later. This "unit" is actually called a Bella Band. It is made out of spandex, and is now my best friend! This allows me to still wear my pre-maternity pants unbuttoned. I am sure this is very short lived, because even wearing the Bella Band is getting to be very uncomfortable.
On Saturday, I ventured out to Destination Maternity to buy some big girl pants, as I call them. I probably spent waaaay too much money, but hey...If I am going to gain some weight, I still have to look cute, right?

Dr's Visit
I went to see Dr. Nokleberg today for a checkup. Apparently, every time you go to the Doctor you need to give them a urine sample?? (sorry for the graphic nature). Well, I didn't get that memo...and the nurse was not too happy with me when I told her that I had already gone (oops). I guess these nurses are so use to dealing with women who have already had multiple children, and not those who are on their first. So...Everything looks good, and I got to hear the heartbeat again :) I also made the BIG 18 week sonogram and checkup for April 1st. At that time, we will find out for sure if we are having a girl or a boy. Despite the news of a 95% chance of having a girl, Derek is still holding out for a boy. We will see.
