4 Months
I can't believe it, Jocelyn will be 4 months on Saturday :( Time flies by so fast! We went in today for her 4 month check up, and it was fun as usual. Gramma Joyce took Jocelyn all over the office to say "hello" to everyone and show them how big she has gotten....and to show off her super cute, over the top (but completely necessary) headband that Grandma Lynna got her for Christmas! Along with the precious onesie that says "The bigger the bow, the better the Mommy!" hehe :)
Our little tot...or should I say "chunk" weighed in at 15.4lbs (80th %) and is 24 1/2 inches long (50th %). Dr. Fernandez said she is progressing just great, but mom and dad need to make sure she is practicing her tummy time (which she absolutely HATES, but what child loves it, right?).
At 4 months, Jocelyn is sleeping through the night (has been since 8 weeks...thank you sweet child). She smiles at anyone who will make funny faces or sounds to her. Her smile is so sweet, it just melts my heart. However, it is incredibly difficult to catch on camera?!? I see now why people purchase those really snazzy cameras that professionals use. She also laughs sometimes, which is so cute! It is kind of difficult to get her to laugh, but I truly look forward to the day when she laughs out loud at just about anything. She LOVES TV, I mean absolutely LOVES it! She will turn her head all the way around to see the screen...is that bad? She will hold onto things if you put them in her hand. She also has a death grip! She will pinch the crap out of your neck if you aren't careful when holding her. I can prop her up on my hip and she has pretty good control of her head. I think she is taking after her daddy, because she is the most chill baby and doesn't get upset unless she is hungry or tired...that is it! She is pretty predictable, and eats and naps around the same time every day. Jocelyn still has no hair, or as I call it....old man hair. She is bald on top, and has a little around the base of her neck :).
Jocelyn also LOVES the car. The minute we put her in her car seat and get above about 50 miles per hour, she is out like a light! However, if you slow down, she will wake up...weird, huh? It is pretty obvious by her current weight that she loves to eat. She is taking about 30oz of formula a day like a champ usually leaving nothing to spare. She also loves to sleep on her left side? If we are trying to get her to go to sleep, if we turn her on her left, she will quiet down and go right to sleep...weird?!?
Miss J does a whole lot of other cool things, but I won't bore you with them :) She is such a wonderful happy baby, and we are so lucky to have her in our lives. Derek and I say daily that we had no idea it was possible to love someone this much.

Merry Christmas!
I was very excited for Jocelyn's first Christmas, and everything was wonderful. We spent Christmas Eve with my family. We went to church, but Jocelyn, Poppy and I spent the entire service out in the hallway (not her best time of day!) Afterward, we went back to Poppy and Lynna's house for dinner and presents. We couldn't get Jocelyn to sleep at Poppy and Lynna's, so she just stayed up....until 10PM!! Yikes! Overall, she did really good and I am glad she was awake to "open" her gifts. ( I forgot to take pictures of Christmas Eve, oops!)
On Christmas morning, we went to Derek's parents house. We had a great day there too. Lots of love and gifts.
Is this not unbelievable?? What a lucky little girl! Just so you know, the only thing Derek and I got for her was the red wagon. Everything else was from of the family :) And, yes, I know I am a huge nerd for "displaying" all of her goods. I figured she would want to see one day how wonderful her first Christmas was.
She had her own place setting for our Christmas lunch at gramma and granddaddy's
Christmas Eve picture
"Oh, my...look at all of these gifts Santa brought me!"
Our first Christmas with the 3 of us. FYI: All of the gifts behind us were for Jocelyn :)
Modeling some of her new loot
I'm sorry...but, is this not the cutest thing ever?? She is like a small teddy bear and you just want to squeeze the crap out of her she is co CUTE!
Cutest PJ's EVER!!! And, what is behind the trap door is even cuter! She was so exhausted from all of the festivities, she passed out...price tag and all!
Taking a ride with Mom in her new wagon. Don't worry the weight limit is 200lbs....we just barely made it!

Christmas Card Pictures
For those of you who know me well, you are probably wondering where my Christmas Cards are?!? I know, I know...you will get them in the next few days. I am really excited because we took professional pictures and I LOVE them. I was very impressed with our photographer, Kendra Pryor Photography. She was so professional, great customer service, and very reasonable.
Enjoy!
Enjoy!
(This is my favoite picture-do I look super excited or what!)
I have several more pictures that I will post later, because it is taking FOREVER to upload pictures to the blog. (Does anyone else have this problem?-help!!)

Dear Santa
All I want for Christmas is for the little boy at daycare that hit Jocelyn on the head with a toy, to not do that again. Ahhh, how devastating it feels to have your child injured by another child. I know it was not anyones fault, and these things are going to happen...but It still breaks my heart. Jocelyn was playing on a mat at daycare last week, and a little boy crawled up and started playing next to her. And then, WACK! she got knocked in the head with a toy which resulted in these small bruises. Here is a picture below.
On Friday, Derek and I both took off of work to take Jocelyn to meet Santa. She did great, and didn't cry at all. This Santa, mind you, had his own economy sized hand sanitizer dispenser...classic! This Santa was very good looking, and by that I don't mean 6 ft, blonde hair, blue eyes..I mean realistic! Funny story about Santa: Derek, J and I walked into "Santa's House" in the Allen shopping center and Santa looked at us and said, no lie, " Santa goes to lunch at 3pm, so lets get going". Ha! I almost died laughing, and was glad we made it there on time...wouldn't want Santa to miss out on lunch (he looks so malnourished...see below)?!?
Now onto less sad items!
Jocelyn had her first school portraits taken recently. I picked out a cute outfit for Jocelyn (because Daddy is not allowed to do this task anymore after he brought her to my office wearing 15 shades of pink and pants that were too small). I also sent up to school a pink headband that had a flower on top. Well, apparently the photographer didn't know that I would prefer the flower to be arranged on the side of her head. So, for one of the poses, she has the headband on, with the flower perfectly arranged on top of her head. She looked like a flower pot! I guess one of the teachers realized this, and moved it slightly to the side...much better.
Now, we were warned from our good friends Josh and Leigh that they were going to guilt us into purchasing all of these pictures of Jocelyn that we DONT need. So, I had my game face on when I went to pick them up. Of course the lady had all of Jocelyn's beautiful flower pot poses all lined out and was trying to sell me on this $140 package of 2-8X10, 15-5X7, and 1 million wallet sized photos. I stood strong and only bought one sheet of 8 wallets for....get ready...$18. Seriously? The pictures aren't even that good.

So precious, my little deer in headlights! Isn't her outfit so stinking cute? Derek just doesn't understand that she MUST have a cute outfit for every day of the week.

So Thankful!
Derek and I have a lot to be thankful for this year. We are thankful for a healthy full term pregnancy, and a heathy growing little girl! Jocelyn has brought so much joy to our lives, and we grow more in love with her every day.
I have officially caved in. Our house looks like a daycare! We have baby stuff everywhere!!
I love this picture. When we are off, we feed Jocelyn her 7AM bottle and then bring her back to bed with us. She usually takes a nice little nap...along with daddy, then we all get up around 9:30. :)
Toby had to get in on a little suggle time too :)

Chatty Cathy
In my earlier post, I mentioned that my favorite time of day with Jocelyn is in the morning when she first wakes up. She is sooo happy and very chatty. Here is a video of our chatty Cathy this morning. Sorry for the nudity...we were changing her and getting her ready for the day :)
Before I did this post, Derek asked if we could "re-do" the video because he is embarrassed by his voice?!? He is such a great Dad, I don't care....it is going up! WARNING: All you dudes out there that plan to hate on my man for his high pitched voice, don't even THINK about it! If you are already a Dad, you know you have done the same thing...and if you aren't a Dad yet, you will...I promise.
We also took Joceyn to Dr. Fernandez today to get weighed and measured. Miss J comes in at a whopping 12lbs 10oz and 24 inches long!! She is getting so big right before our eyes!

Whose child is this?
When people meet Jocelyn, one of the first questions out of their mouths is "Who does she look like?" Honestly, we have no clue?!? Of course, Derek thinks she looks just like him...and I see absolutely no resemblance of her to me? I know she is mine because I am pretty sure I spent 21 hours trying to get her out!! Here are some pictures of both Derek and I when we were little, and you can be the judge of who she looks like.
Derek at 2 weeks old. This couch is a classic!
Breck at 1 week old. Did we seriously have yellow furniture??
Jocelyn at 1 week old
Derek at 3 1/2 months. Check out the swing...man how things have changed!
Breck at 2 months old
Jocelyn at 2 months old
Derek at 3 1/2 months old. I think his mother starved him?!? :)
Breck at 4 months old
Jocelyn at 11 weeks
On Saturday night we watched the Aggies win against Nebraska, yeah! Miss J tried so hard to stay awake, but just couldn't make it. I was bouncing her on my knee and then realized that she had fallen asleep. Look closely....can you see the drool coming out of her mouth? Nice!
Jocelyn is getting SO big, holy cow! We are going to swing by the doctor tomorrow to have her weighed and measured. Her personality is coming out more and more each day. She smiles so much, just not in front of the camera...annoying! I think I even heard a laugh this week. My favorite time is in the morning when I wake her up. She is a chatty Cathy when I have her on her changing table. She just talks and talks, it is so cute. So, of course like any good mom, I talk back to her. If only someone was recording this, they might think I was insane. Jocelyn is able to hold her head up pretty well, but gets tired after a while and lays back down.
Daycare is going well. She doesn't sleep good there, probably because of the noise? But, everyone says she is doing great and is such a good baby. She is sleeping through the night (Thank you!!!) and is pretty predictable, which makes it easy for planning. I am pretty sure this is God's way of tricking us into having another baby, only to have the second one not be this good? She is such a blessing and Derek and I are so happy to have her in our lives.

Jocelyn's Baptism
Last Sunday we baptised Jocelyn. We had a l ot of family in attendance which was wonderful! She is a lucky girl. We had the first 3 pews at the church filled :) We then had everyone over to our house afterward for a lunch.
Her baptism dress
A very sweet baptism gift from Poppy & Lynna
I love this picture! When we got to the church, the organ was playing very loudly...and I think it scared her?
This gift is so neat! My Aunt DeeAnn gave this to Jocelyn. This bonnet may be worn on a baby's baptism day, and then you snip the strings and it can be used to tie around your bouquet on your wedding day. I love that!
I must admit, I was super nervous to hold her and walk in heels, so I made Derek do it. When we sat back down, he said he was super nervous to hold her and walk up in front of that many people..hehe!
Miss J was so good. She only cried when Clayton put water on her head (which I would too!). She was very alert and perfromed perfectly!
A little family photo
Miss J chillin in her bumbo, glad this BIG day was winding down so she could take a nap!
Thank you to all who took time out of your busy weekends to attend this special event for Jocelyn. It means a lot to Derek and I, and Jocelyn is such a lucky girl to have so many people who love her!

2 month pictures
Monday was my first day back to work after 8 weeks of maternity leave :( It went by soooo fast! It was such a blur. For those of you wondering, yes, I did cry when I left the house that morning...and again at work. I was better today. They have given her glowing reports the past two days and she slept through the night last night! I guess daycare pooped her out? Getting more than 4 hours of consecutive sleep was heavenly!
Our little girl has grown sooo much! Here are her 2 month chair and bear pictures in comparison to her 1 week pictures.
Enjoy!
